Entry-Level Helpdesk Assistant
Description:
Our client, a well-known company located in Southern Maryland, is now hiring Computer Support Assistants! The Computer Support Assistants are an important part of the Help Desk team, which is the primary hub of technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. As a Computer Support Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Help Desk Support Specialists. Duties include answering users' questions, training users on basic system and computer functions, addressing system and user issues, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. The Help Desk team works with the entire IT team, and may interact with system and computer users across the company.
Responsibilities:
- Follow standard help desk procedures
- Log all help desk interactions
- Administer help desk software
- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, chat or email
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
- Research questions using available information resources
- Advise users on appropriate procedures
- Follow up with customers and users to ensure complete resolution of issues
- Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
- Redirect problems to correct resource
- rack and route problems and requests and document resolutions
