Entry-Level Computer Helpdesk Support Specialist

Computer Support Assistants work at the Help Desk, and are part of the overall IT team. As part of the Help Desk team, Computer Support Assistants provide technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software by answering users' questions, training users on basic system and computer functions, addressing system and user issues, and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. Responsibilities:
- Provide standard help desk assistance, including:
- Log all help desk interactions
- Administer help desk software
- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, chat or email
- Diagnose and resolve technical hardware and software issues
- Research questions using available information resources
- Advise users on appropriate procedures
- Follow up with customers and users to ensure complete resolution of issues
- Follow help desk protocols and procedures, including:
- Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention
- Redirect problems to correct resource
- Track and route problems and requests and document resolutions
